A reflection on Trends, Networks and Criticial Thinking
When I first heard about Trends, Networks, and Critical Thinking as our subject for the second semester, I clearly had not that much of an idea on what it is all about. What I had in mind was basically talking about trends in our country and in the world. Which did not fail me because trends was the first topic that we talked about during our first meeting with our professor in the subject. Something about gigatrends. megatrends etc. I have realized that TNCT was an interesting subject because it made me gain knowledge and learn about things that I did not know about before or things that I did not realize back then when I did not know this subject yet. It has somewhat helped me to be open minded and to think deeply on topics or issues regarding the government, people etc. It has taught me to be critical on matters that I think is shallow back then.
When it comes to my experiences in this subject, I can share some insights that I have realized. TNCT was our first subject within a 7 am-6:30 pm class schedule. Most of my classmates, including me are sometimes 10-15 minutes late in the class. Well the reason for me becoming late is because I live in a far place and it is super traffic in commonwealth and Fairview. That’s why sometimes I feel guilty and sorry because I think that I am abusive to our professor and I am taking his kindness for granted. There are also times wherein I am scared to miss some lectures or discussions because of course who would want to miss some lessons? I’m just scared that maybe some points that he shared during the lecture are part of the future quizzes. Our professor is also quite entertaining when he is discussing. Although there are times that he’s not feeling well, but the way he discuss the lessons and topics is well said and I can see that he is really into the subject.
Basically, the subject Trends, Networks and Critical Thinking is such a great and interesting subject for me. The topics discussed like global networks, globalization, international labor migration, and trends has somewhat helped me deeply understand the happenings and issues related to the subject matter. Especially the topic about international labor migration. Since I grew up in a different country and my parents are OFW’s, I had been very interested on this topic during the lecture. It had made me realize their importance and it helped me gain wider knowledge about migration, workers and the reasons why one goes abroad. Hopefully during my college years in the future, I will have a subject close enough to TNCT for me to know a lot more. Since we only had one semester for this subject, I am somewhat not that satisfied on the time allotted for this subject. I just wish that in the near future, I won’t forget the lessons that I have learned while taking this subject.
Thank you it was so helpful ❤️
